Project DescriptionA bold, expressive studio rebrand encompassing strategy, narrative, positioning, and portfolio execution. Inspired by the studio’s interdisciplinary, DIY ethos, the identity is playful and adaptable across crafts.

Concept
The core concept, centered on communication, is embodied by a shape the studio calls the “emanata,” which can be interpreted in diverse ways. After this, we developed a robust symbol system that reinforces the idea of transferring ideas that can both be visual and abstract in nature, a key philosophy the studio.

My Role
As Head Art Director, I led the company’s founders, along with a team of designers, writers, and developers, through a complete visual rebrand and name change. Along the way, I implemented an entirely new way of working, drawing on my organizational design background at IDEO. This included new processes, modes of critique, and systems for virtual collaboration. I also contributed significantly to the design work.
